Genealogist. Pershing's correspondence with members of the Edwards family, genealogical notes, completed questionnaires, and clippings, from his genealogical research on the Edwards family. Also, typescript copies and photocopies of 17th - 20th century Edwards family wills and other legal documents, inventories of household possessions, and correspondence. Much of the material in the collection is related to the Edwards Estate hoax in which Edwards family members were believed to be heirs to 77 acres of prime real estate on lower Manhattan Island, including land owned by Trinity Church.
